Dehydration of alcohol:-
Regent used is concentrated H2SO4 Δ. It proceeds via carbocation intermediate

Mechanism:-
(i) Electrophilic attack of

(ii) Formation of intermediate:-

(iii) Removal of proton to give alkene

Oxidation of alcohols:-

Dehydrogenation alcohols:-
Reagent = heated copper 10 alcohol gives aldehyde, 20 gives ketones 30 alcohol gives nothing (no reaction)
