Pre-Regional Mathematics Olympiads is the first stage of Indian Mathematical Olympiads. The administration of the Mathematical Olympiad Activity, National Board of Higher Mathematics has committed its implementation to the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education to be brought out in coordination among the MO-Cell and the National Coordinator designated by NBHM. To be qualified for RMO it is compulsory that the students pass this central governed Pre-Regional Mathematics Olympiad. Any other Examination administered independently will not be considered for the next stage of Indian Mathematical Olympiads i.e. RMO. The PRMO Examination was held on August 11, 2019. Pre-Regional Mathematics Olympiads 2019-20
The Pre-Regional Mathematics Olympiads(PRMO) is an examination of 3 hours with 30 questions held in different centers all over India. By the performance of the students in Pre-Regional Mathematics Olympiads(PRMO), equipped students from class 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th will be elected to compete in the next stage examination RMO.

To register for the Pre-Regional Mathematics Olympiads(PRMO) examination, students must monitor the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria for the PRMO examination is given below. Students may see the details for eligibility:
- Students born on or after August 1, 1999, are eligible for the PRMO.
- Students studying in class 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th
- Candidate must be a citizen of India
- The INMO merit certificate holders of 2019 are not eligible for PRMO.
Students are responsible to determine their eligibility norms for every stage of the Indian Mathematics Olympiad. If at any stage of mathematics olympiads, it is perceived that the student is not eligible, then he/she may be disqualified.
The students who are interested in Indian Mathematics Olympiads can register their appearance for the exams. The last date for the registration of school centers and students are provided on this page. After being sure about the eligibility the students may register for the examination after giving a payment which is required for the registration from the student of any school. The registration for the students and the school centers will be available till the last date provided by the exam directors. Note: The students of Kendriya Vidyalaya and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya was granted by a reduction in the registration fee as the schools were utilized to direct PRMO.
After submitting the registration fees required for the Pre-Regional Mathematics Olympiads examination Registration, the students will be provided by their admit cards. Only after the successful transaction of registration fee will lead to the receiving of admit cards for the Pre-Regional Mathematics Olympiads. Admit card is necessary to appear in the examination. The Pre-Regional Mathematics Olympiads examination pattern should be known by the students who appeared in the Examination. Every question has a number with one or two digits as an answer that was marked on a machine-oriented OMR answer sheet. More details about the exam pattern are stated below:

The syllabus for Mathematical Olympiad (regional, national and international) is pre-degree college mathematics. The areas covered are arithmetic of integers, geometry, quadratic equations and expressions, trigonometry, co-ordinate geometry, system of linear equations, permutations and combination, factorization of polynomial, inequalities, elementary combinatorics, probability theory and number theory, finite series and complex numbers and elementary graph theory. The syllabus does not include calculus and statistics. The major areas from which problems are given are algebra, combinatorics, geometry and number theory . The syllabus is in a sense spread over Class XI to Class XII levels, but the problems under each topic involve high level of difficulty and sophistication. The difficulty level increases from RMO to INMO to IMO.
