CBSE Board Exams 2020 Do’s and Don’ts, Dress Code – Most Important Guidelines For 30 Lakh Students!

Today was the big day when Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) started the class 10 and 12 board exams 2020. A staggeringly large number of 30 lakh students are enrolled this year for the senior secondary and higher secondary board exams. While the last exam for 10thees will be on March 20, 2020, and for the 12thees will end on March 30, 2020. For this whole period, CBSE has made arrangements for the smooth conduct of exam. Also, they have provided exam days instructions for the students to follow.

Do’s and Don’ts for CBSE 2020 Board Exams

18,89,878 candidates are in CBSE class 10 this year and in class 12, the number of candidates are 12,06,893. This is a huge pool of students and to conduct the exam for them in all the states of India needs a lot of manpower and planning, thus CBSE has given some guidelines for the students to follow every day while appearing for the exam at their allotted centers. Check the same below:

What to carry at the exam center?

The candidates can carry the below given items at the exam center:

  1. Admit card of class 10 / 12 board exam as issued by CBSE
  2. Allowed stationery items in a clear and transparent pouch
  3. School ID

Important Note for the CBSE Admit Card 2020: The admit card must be carried as it is on the day of the exam. However, it must also have the signature of the parents. Also, this year the admit card of class 10 and 12 have QR code. Candidates must not mark the code are and also must not fold that area. Keep the admit card safe throughout the exam and also after the exam is over. It is a document of great value and is needed for many future events.

Dress Code to Follow for CBSE Board Exams

Anurag Tripathi, Secretary CBSE, has quoted the below point while instructing the parents, students, teachers and principals of all CBSE schools for class 10 and 12 board exams:

Students must wear the school uniform on the day of the examination and carry school ID

Please ensure that you are wearing no other item of clothing if it is not part of the school uniform.

Time to report at the exam center:

Exam center and exam center code are allocated to the student via their admit card. The admit card also has the reporting time. Students must report the exam center as per the reporting time and not later.

The schedule to follow the exam center is given below:

Reporting timeon or before 9:45 am
Taking seat in exam hall / roomby 10 am
Deadline to enter exam center10 am
Distribution of question papers10:15 am
Reading the question paper10:15 am to 10:30 am
Writing the exam starts10:30 am

Locating the exam center: It is advised by CBSE that every candidate must locate their respective exam center a day before the exam. This will help them identify and locate the exact location of their center. Students can also estimate the time and distance of the center and make travel arrangements accordingly.

Carrying belongings at the center:

Students are allowed to carry permitted stationery items only at the center. However, they must carry them in a transparent pouch only. Do not carry books, notes, notebooks, pieces of paper, calculator, etc inside the exam hall. The students can carry only the admit card issued by CBSE inside their exam hall.

Banned items at the exam center:

On the day of class 10 / 12 board exam, candidates cannot carry the below given items:

  • Cell phones
  • Wallets
  • Purses
  • Chits or pieces of papers
  • Old question papers

Anything that attracts the possibility fo unfair means and cheating suspicion must be not carried at the center.

Instructions at the exam center:

CBSE strictly advise the candidates to follow all instructions at the center and maintain discipline during the exam. In the answer booklet and the question booklet, there will be instructions that must be read and followed without fail. Also, students are advised to stay away from any sort of rumors and must not forward them at the center.

CBSE Board Exam Timings

Most of the exams for class 10 will be held from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. However, some of the subjects will be held from 10:30 and to 1:30 pm also.

For class 12, some exams will be held from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, some from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm and rest from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm.
