New CBSE Date Sheet 2020 for 10th, 12th Class Board Exams Out!

Latest update (19th March 2020): CBSE Board Exam 2020 Postponed Due To Coronavirus (COVID 19): Here Is The Full Notice

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the exam dates for those papers that had to be cancelled in North East Delhi in light of the violence caused by mobs protesting against CAA and NRC. As per the new schedule, rescheduled exams for class 10 will be held from March 21, 2020, to March 31, 2020. Whereas for class 12, they will be from March 31, 2020, to April 14, 2020. 

Please note that these dates are only for those exams that were cancelled at the 86 centers in North East Delhi. For all other exams, the initial timetable only will be applicable.

Important Note On The New Datesheet

Readers are requested to note that at the time of publishing this article, the revised schedule was not uploaded on the official website of CBSE – cbse.nic.in, cbseacademic.in. However, the following images of datesheets were published in reputed newspapers today.

Students are encouraged to check the official websites before taking action, and coordinating with schools as well.

Further it is reported, regular students who could not attend the exams held on February 26, 27, 28, and 29, 2020 because they could not travel from home to school, because of the violence, can contact their schools until March 14, 2020 about their cases. By the same deadline, private candidates in affected areas may contact the regional offices. For regular candidates, schools shall provide the information to regional offices by March 16, 2020.

Will JEE Main 2020 Be Postponed?

A total of 16 papers for class 10th, and 34 for class 12th students will be held on the new dates. It is relevant to note that the new board exam dates are indeed overlapping; however it is not clear yet whether NTA will postpone JEE Main 2020 or not, and whether other bodies will reschedule the entrance exam dates. 

JEE Main 2020 exam dates are: April 5, 7, 8, 9, and 11, 2020. 

As per the new board exam dates, there will be class 12 exams on April 7, 8, 9, and 11, 2020. Though subject papers on these dates are not directly related to engineering aspirants, however any of the elective papers could be of students who have opted for any of them. 

Thus, as of now, there are considerable chances for JEE Main 2020 to be postponed. The final word on this matter shall solely be of NTA.

What About Other Entrance Exams?

Besides JEE Main, there are other entrance exams (for +2 students) that are scheduled in the month of April.

This includes exams such as SRMJEEE, SAAT, VITEEE, KIITEE, and others. Decision on whether to change their exam dates or not, will be taken by the respective exam conducting authorities. A number of these exams are happening over different dates, and hence there are 50-50 chances of their date change.
