Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) hereby notifies that board examinations for classes 10th as well as 12th are being postponed until further notice. All the CBSE board exams scheduled to be held from March 19 to 31, 2020, will now be held after March 31, 2020. New exam dates will be decided and announced on or after March 31, 2020.
This decision comes in light of the growing concerns over the spread of Coronavirus. Even though the board had issued precautionary measures earlier to protect students from COVID 19 at exam centers, the rising count of infected individuals is leading to bigger steps by all authorities.
Furthermore, the board will reschedule the special exams that were to be held in April for the North East Delhi students who could earlier not attend the exams due to CAA NRC protests.
The board has conveyed five major points in the latest notice circulated to all stakeholders.

Coronavirus – COVID 19’s Impact On Education in India
While the impact of the virus that originated in Wuhan, China in December 2019 has only started to make its presence felt in India, the effects are already chilling.
On one hand several schools, colleges, and other educational institutes have shut down temporarily, board exams are on in full swing in most boards. CBSE is one of the first education boards to put a halt to the board exams.
However for classes other than 10th and 12th where there are school level exams, schools are coming up with alternate solutions. In some schools and boards students are taking trust based exams from homes, in others decisions are being taken to pass students without tests.
Education, like all other aspects of life, has been thrown off guard by the sudden pandemic.
Students are encouraged to take note of the Ministry guidelines on social distancing, basic hygiene to keep themselves safe.
Parents are also requested to take stock of the situation, guide their children on the reality of it all, yet in a way that right steps are taken instead of inducing fear and panic in the young minds.
Here is wishing everyone, to be safe.
