NTSE Important Points for Class X Students

For this academic year NTSE will be conducted for Class X instead of Class VIII as earlier. There is no raise in the amount of Scholarship amount and is same as last year i.e. Rs. 500 per month as per the MHRD guidelines. This may increase from next year.

Total number of iteams in MAT and SAT at state level will be 90 with 1 mark each.

Minimum marks required for qualifying marks is 40% for general candidates and 32% for ST/SC/PH candidates.

Total time allowed is 90 min for each MAT and SAT individually.

Visually Challenged students are given extra 30 min in each MAT and SAT paper.

The number of questions allocated for each subject will be:

  • Physics – 12
  • Chemistry – 11
  • Biology – 12
  • Mathematics – 20
  • History – 10
  • Geography – 10
  • Pol. Science – 10
  • Economics – 05

The syllabus for SAT will be based on the Class IX and Class X course syllabus as per their boards.

NTSE qualifies of class VIII students in year 2012 need not to appear in the Class X NTSE exam again. However, those candidates who failed to clear the Class VIII NTSE but at National Level but cleared State Level can appear again for Class X NTSE exam this year.
