Aim: The Sainik Schools were established from 1961, with the primary aim of preparing boys academically, physically and mentally for entry into the Officer cadre of the Armed Forces.

Sainik School Kazhakootam Admission 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Age Criteria:

For Admission to class VI: Applicants should be between 10 and 12 years as on the year of admission (Between April 01, 2010 – March 31, 2012) (both days inclusive). This age limit is same for both boys and girls.

For admission to class IX: Applicants should be between 13 and 15 years as on the year of admission and passed class VIII in a recognised school. (Born between April 01, 2007 – March 31, 2009 (both days inclusive). Candidates must note that Admission to Class IX is not open for girls.

Sainik School Kazhakootam will release the merit list for the candidates shortlisted for interview and medical exam, based on the performance in the written exam. 15 % for SC and 7.5% for ST. Out of remaining seats, 67% are for Kerala Domicile – General and Defence (75:25) – and 33% are reserved for other state candidates. Detailed split up of vacancies is given on the school website.
