**Complex Numbers**

A number of the form x *+ *iy, where x and y are real numbers and i = square root of -1, is called a complex number. It is usually denoted by z. i.e. z* = *x *+ *iy, x is called the real part and y the imaginary part of z. C denotes the set of complex number.
