Steps to Apply for UCO 2026-27
- School route: the school collects the fee and sends one consolidated Demand Draft in favour of ‘Unified Council’ payable at Hyderabad, with the student list in the prescribed format, by courier/registered/speed post.
- The offline UCO is held only in schools, so students who want the offline exam must apply through their school’s teacher-in-charge.
- Individual route: register for UCO-Online on the Unified Council registration portal (register.unifiedcouncil.com/options) and pay online.
- UCO-Online is taken from home on a PC/laptop with internet and webcam.
Who can apply for UCO 2026-27?
Classes 2 to 10.
Qualifying and selection: No second level; students are ranked class-wise (All India and Zone ranks). Ties are broken by marks in Mental Ability, Reasoning, Computers and English, in that order, then by less time taken. Scores below 30% get no rank. Online: non-top-25 students scoring 91-100%, 81-90% and 71-80% get Scholar, Distinction and Brilliance certificates.
What is the UCO exam pattern?
UCO has multiple-choice questions and lasts 60 minutes. Mode: offline at the student’s own school for school registrations (no open centres). There is no negative marking. The number of questions and marks depend on the class:

What do UCO toppers get?
Offline UCO (2026-27): in each class rank 1 gets a laptop and ranks 2-3 a tablet PC, ranks 4-10 get Rs 1,000 each, and the top 25 get a medal and certificate. UCO-Online: rank 1 gets Rs 10,000, ranks 2-3 Rs 5,000 and ranks 4-10 Rs 1,000, plus Olympiad Coach subscriptions and zone-topper awards.
