How Board Exams Work

  • Class 10 and Class 12 board exams are held by the state board (or CBSE / CISCE) – usually in February–March.
  • Time table comes 2–3 months before the exams; the admit card 2–3 weeks before.
  • Results come in April–May; supplementary exams follow in June–July.
  • Classes 3–9 and 11 have school-level exams (periodic test, half yearly, annual) set by the school.
