RIMC Admission Eligibility Criteria
- Class: The candidate must be studying in Class VII, or have passed Class VII, from a recognised school at the time of admission.
- Age: Between 11½ and 13 years on the admission date. For the June 2026 exam (Jan 2027 term), candidates had to be born between 02 January 2014 and 01 July 2015 (both inclusive). The age window shifts for each cycle. No change of date of birth is entertained later.
- Gender: Both boys and girls are eligible to apply.
RIMC Entrance Exam Pattern
The RIMC written examination is of 450 marks across three subjects, followed by a viva-voce for those who qualify. Maths and General Knowledge papers may be answered in Hindi or English. A candidate must score at least 50% in each subject to qualify.

RIMC Selection Process
- Written Examination – Maths, General Knowledge and English (450 marks with viva).
- Viva-voce (50 marks) – held only for candidates who qualify the written exam; tests intelligence, personality and communication.
- Medical Examination – conducted at a Military Hospital; only medically fit candidates are selected. Final selection is confirmed only when Joining Instructions are issued.

RIMC issues a Prospectus-cum-Application Form (along with a booklet of old question papers) at a cost of Rs 600 for General and Rs 555 for SC/ST candidates.
