Steps to Apply for AP NMMS 2026-27
- Applications are made online only, through the link on http://www.bse.ap.gov.in; the school headmaster uploads each candidate’s application (2026: by 27 October 2026, extended from 12 October).
- The student submits the original/attested caste certificate (SC with sub-group 1/2/3) and income certificate issued by the MRO to the headmaster.
- Pay the exam fee through SBI Collect (2026: by 27 October 2026).
- The headmaster submits printed nominal rolls and enclosures at the District Educational Officer’s office (2026: by 28 October), and the DEO approves the applications online (by 29 October 2026).
Who can apply for AP NMMS 2026-27?
Class VIII students of Govt, Local Body, Govt Aided, AP Model (day scholars) and MPUP schools; min 55% (50% SC/ST) in Class VII 2025-26; parental income below Rs 3,50,000.
Qualifying and selection: Eligibility: Class 8 student who scored at least 55% (OC/BC) or 50% (SC/ST), or grade B+, in Class 7 in 2025-26; studying in a government, local-body, government-aided, AP Model (day scholar) or MPUP school; parents’ combined annual income below Rs 3,50,000 (MRO certificate). Selection follows the central NMMSS rule: at least 40% aggregate in MAT + SAT taken together (32% for SC/ST); the selected list is prepared district-wise and community-wise against AP’s quota of 4,087 scholarships.
What is the AP NMMS exam pattern?
AP NMMS has multiple-choice questions and lasts 90 minutes per test, 3 hours in all; extra time for children with disability as per the NMMSS guidelines. Mode: offline (pen-paper, multiple-choice) at all Revenue Divisional headquarters of the 28 districts. The number of questions and marks depend on the class:

How much is the AP NMMS scholarship?
Rs 12,000 a year (Rs 1,000 a month) from Class 9 to Class 12. Selected students download the merit card, open a bank account linked to Aadhaar, and apply on the National Scholarship Portal (scholarships.gov.in) with name and details exactly as on Aadhaar; the school and district nodal officers verify it and the money is paid by DBT. To continue, the student needs 60% in Class 10 (55% for SC/ST) and clear promotion in Classes 9 and 11.
