Nagaland Board of School Education was set up through an Act by the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and received the assent of the Governor on the November 15, 1973. NBSE started functioning from the October 01, 1974, and in March 1975. The main objective of NBSE is prescribed conditions of examinations, conduct examinations and be responsible for making necessary arrangements for the same and to prepare the curricula, syllabi and textbooks in accordance with the approved courses of study.
