About HPBOSE
The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, Dharamshala, was established in 1969 under Himachal Pradesh Act No. 14 of 1968, with its headquarters in Shimla. In January 1983, the headquarters were relocated to Dharamshala. The Board started with a staff of 34 people, which has since grown to 643. In Himachal Pradesh, the Education Board defines syllabuses, courses of instruction, and text books for school education, as well as holding examinations based on the courses indicated. The Board currently administers exams for the following classes and courses: 10th, 10+2, J.B.T, and T.T.C. The Board conducts an examination that attracts up to 5 lakh participants each year.
