The admission process differs for different classes. We are providing here the admission procedure for all classes in KV. Go through the same below.
For Class 1:
Out of the total intake, 15% seats are reserved for SC students and 7.5% for ST students. No admission test is conducted for Class 1 admissions. Admissions to class 1 are undertaken in 2 phases.
Phase 1- 25% seats in each section are filled according to the RTE provisions. These seats are filled using a draw of lots amongst applicants belonging to SC/ST/PwD/EWS/BPL/OBC (NCL) who are residents of the neighborhood.
Phase 2- The rest of the seats are filled using Priority Category System in place.
Note– If sufficient applications are not received for RTE seats, a second notification is issued. Also, if sufficient registrations are not received form SC/ST candidates, KVS issues a second notification for admission.
For Class 2 to 8
No admission test is conducted. Admission to these classes is granted using the Priority Category system. However, if the number of applications is more than the number of seats, the lottery system is undertaken in each category.
For Class 9
An admission test is organized for admission to class 9. Based on the test, a merit list is prepared for each category of priority separately. Admissions are provided in sequence of priority and merit in the admission test. Check the pattern of the admission test.
Duration of test: 3 hours
Subjects: Hindi, English, Maths, Social Science and Science.
Total Marks: 100
Weightage of each subject: 20 marks
Min. qualifying marks in aggregate: 33% (25% for SC/ST/PH)

Science Stream- 60% aggregate marks in 10th
Commerce Stream- 55% aggregate marks in 10th
Humanities: All candidates of KV who passed class 10th
