Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is a government initiative to provide education to talented students in rural areas so that they can compete with this fast-growing world in a much more efficient way. Admission in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Class XI is made on the basis of marks secured in class X board examination conducted by CBSE. Education at JNV is provided free of cost so that students from far-flung areas should not face any difficulty. JNV Class 11th Lateral Entry Test is conducted every year. JNV Lateral Entry Test 2021 for Class XI 

Online applications are invited from eligible students for admission to Class XI against the vacant seats likely to be available in JNVs during the academic year 2021-22. Admission will be made on the basis of the performance of students in Class X Board Examinations (CBSE / State Education/ other recognized Board).

Result of JNV Lateral Entry 2021 for Class XI 

Admission to Class XI is made on the basis of marks secured in class X board examination. The merit list is prepared as per marks obtained by the applicant in the Class–X Board Exam and the admission is given as per eligibility of the candidate and the seats available in the JNV concerned.

Application Form of JNV Lateral Entry 2021 for Class XI 

The candidate can fill the online application form directly on the NVS website navodaya.gov.in. As JNV provides free education, therefore, there is no application fee for the JNV Lateral Entry test 2021. While education in the schools is free including board & lodging, uniform and textbooks, a sum of Rs. 600/- per month is collected only from the students of Classes IX to XII towards Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi. However, students belonging to SC/ST categories, all Girl students and the students whose family income is below poverty line (BPL) are exempted. In respect of wards of Government employees other than exempted category (Students of classes VI to VIII, all SC/ST & Girl students and wards of BPL families) Vikas Nidhi will be charged @Rs.1500/- per month or actual children education allowance received by the parent per month whichever is less. However, VVN shall not be less than Rs.600/- per student per month

Eligibility for JNV Lateral Entry 2021 for Class XI 

Students need to fulfill the given criteria to be eligible for JNV Lateral Entry Test 2021 for Class XI:

  • Date of Birth of the candidate is to be between 1st June 2003 to 31st May 2007 (both days inclusive). This is applicable to all categories of candidates including those who belong to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
  • The candidate must have passed Class X from a recognized school (affiliated to CBSE or any other State Education / other recognized Board) of the State where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is located during the academic session 2020-21.

Streams available in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas will be allotted to students as per the criteria decided by the Samiti for allocation of streams to the students joining Class-XI as under –

Note: Weightage is given to the eligible Sports/NCC/Scout/Guide students for admission to various streams in Class-XI in accordance with the criteria decided by the Samiti.

Admit Card for JNV Lateral Entry 2021 for Class XI 

Admit Card for appearing at the Selection Test will be issued to the candidates. If the candidates do not get the Admit Card, he/she must contact the office of the Principal of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya for obtaining the Admit Card. Selection Procedure for JNV Lateral Entry 2021 for Class XI 

Selection of students will be done as per the following steps:

  1. Admission of students will be made against available vacancies in Class-XI on the basis of marks secured by students in the Class-X Board Exam.
  2. The vacant seats in SC/ST category are reserved for SC/ST candidates.
  3. District wise merit list will be prepared and students will be selected against the vacancies. 
  4. After selecting students against the vacancies in the JNV of the district, a common merit list will be prepared at State level. After step a) the vacancies exist in any of the JNV of the same State will be filled from the State level merit list by considering the option exercised by the candidate.
  5. After selection by step a) & b), if the selected candidate does not join even after making all efforts, vacant seats will be filled only from State level merit list.
  6. Wherever grades are allotted to candidates by State Board, NVS will collect marks from State Board concerned for drawing merit list.
  7. The selected students will be informed by the Principal of the concerned JNV by SMS/Speed post.
  8. Newly admitted students have to undergo medical check-up by the Vidyalaya Doctor. Students suffering from infectious disease/serious ailments shall not be admitted.
  9. Ten days orientation programme will be arranged for newly admitted students to bridge the learning gaps and to adapt them for new environment.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I take admission in Jnv Class 11?

Navodaya Vidyalayas have no particular Entrance Exam for admissions in Class 11, like they have for Class 6. For admission in Class 11, you have to apply online for JNV Lateral Entry program. Your selection in that JNV will depend upon your marks in Class 10th and the benchmarks that they have set for their 11th Standard Admissions.

When the result of class 11 JNV will be released?

No information regarding the result date has been released till yet by the conducting body but it will be notified by the Vidyalaya Notice Board as well as published on the website of JNVs.

What’s the minimum marks required for admission in science with mathematics for an OBC category student?

An OBC category student is required to fulfill the given criteria regarding marks for admission in science with mathematics:
Science- 57%, Mathematics- 57% and Science & Mathematics- 62.50%
