Anthropology is the study of humans – their origins, evolution, societies, cultures, and behaviour, both past and present. It combines science and social science to understand what makes us human.

It opens careers in research, museums, NGOs, and the civil services, and is a popular optional subject in UPSC. Ideal for students curious about human cultures, evolution, and society.

Anthropology Courses and Eligibility

10+2 in any stream (Science helps for physical anthropology). A B.A./B.Sc in Anthropology is a 3-year degree, followed by an M.A./M.Sc. Some of the most popular Anthropology courses and degrees are:

  • B.A./B.Sc in Anthropology
  • M.A./M.Sc in Anthropology
  • Ph.D in Anthropology
  • Diploma in Applied Anthropology
