RTE Admission 2019: The Right to free and compulsory education came into force in 2010 from April 1st in the state. According to the rule, the non-governmental schools are required to reserve 25 percent of seats for the children of weaker section classes in entry-level classes and ensure their free education till 8th class. The endeavor is being carried on by the Government of Rajasthan to provide equal opportunity to access education to the children of the weaker section. The parents/Guardian who wants to admit their children into the entry level classes can check this article to get the details related to schedule for this year’s RTE admission, application process, eligibility, age criteria, reporting time, certificates required for admission and selection procedure.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must be a resident of the catchment area. As per the state rule of RTI, the range of the school will be as space available in Nagar Nigam/Nagar Parishad/Nagar Palika. During the time of admission, ward from village schools but residing in the city or living in village area will be given preference. The candidates from city schools will not be permitted in any case.

Category coming under weak section

As per the state rule the list of the candidates who will be considered as coming under the weak section shall belong to one of the category mentioned below.

  • Candidates whose parent’s annual income is less than Rs.1 lakh
  • SC/ST category students
  • Students suffering from HIV/cancer or students whose parents are suffering from HIV/cancer
  • Orphan children
  • PWD candidates
  • Students from Backward class or special backward class category students whose Parent’s annual income is less than Rs. 1 Lakh
  • War widows
  • Those students whose Parents name is included in the list of BPL category as prepared by the state authority

Age criteria for entry level admission

Admission into entry level classes, age eligibility criteria will be decided from the two options provided by the school.

Entry level class name Age for admission (as on 31 March 2019)
Pre Primary 3+ (PP.3+) 3 years or more but age must be Less than 4 years
Pre Primary 4+ (PP.4+) 3 years and 6 months or more but age must be less than 5 years
Pre Primary 5+ (PP.5+) 4 years and 6 months or more than but must be less than 6 years
First 5 years or more than but must be less than 7 years

Certificates valid

Candidates will have to submit a residential certificate issued by a Tehsildar. Following certificates will be considered as residential proof:-Ration Card/ Aadhaar Card/ Voter ID Card, Driving Licence/ Electricity Bill/ Water Bill. The issued certificate shall mention the village name or ward name clearly.

Candidate applying from weak section or uncomfortable section will be required to produce a certificate from a capable officer. Student’s/Parent suffering from HIV/Cancer will produce the report issued by a Registered Diagnostic Centre.

Application Process

Applications shall be made online at the registered portal of RTE at rte.raj.nic.in. the candidates can reach the webportal from the time frame mentioned in the schedule.

Application form filling: Applicants can fill the online application for the admission into the school coming in the range of their village area. Application form will require the furnishing of the student details in a clear and legible format. It is mandatory to provide an active mobile number. Furnish the few basic details post which, the guardian/parent will receive a unique Application Id and password which must be kept in full custody.

Login: After that, the parents can log in to their RTE account to complete the form. Clearly mention the details of the child. Enter details such as date of birth of the candidate, class to which seeking admission and income of the parents etc. You will be able to select the school out of the list of 15 schools coming under their catchment area.

Printout: Once the application will be filled you will be required to lock the information and take a printout of the entire application form.


The result for the RTE Admission 2019 will be declared online. Candidates can follow the steps given below to check the result:

  • Login to the official website of Rajasthan Government as given below in the link.
  • You will see two options to check the result: By Location of School and by Name of the School.
  • To check by location of school,select the required option, then select the district and enter the block.
  • Enter the captcha as given and then click on Discover.
  • To check by name of the school,select the district,enter the first three letters of the name of the school, enter the captcha as given and then click on Discover.

Reporting Time in School

After the online lottery drawn, the Parent/Guardian will have to report at their desired school along with the print out of the requisite application form and the original documents on the prescribed date. The applicant will also have to fill an adaptive reporting form and collect a receipt from the school related to the form. Paste a photograph of the child on the application form.

The applicant will, be required to report as per the schedule mentioned. If there is any school which does not allow the applicant to appear for the process, then the matter shall be reported immediately to the pre-primary education officer or District officer. An immediate action shall be taken against such schools.

To decide the rank, a list will be drawn on the basis of the applications received.

Document Verification

After lottery drawn by online software and the randomly selected students will be admitted in the school. The admission will be provisional which will only be confirmed after all, the documents have been verified and have gone under scrutiny.

Certificates to be submitted by weak section

  • Age proof certificate
  • Guardian annual income proof( the annual income must be less than Rs.1 Lakh
  • Residential proof

Certificates to be submitted by people from non-facilitated section

  • SC/ST certificate, HIV/ cancer report if applicable
  • Residential proof
  • Age proof of the student

Selection Procedure

There will be only 10 seats for free education and total 30 seats for General admission.

Admission to entry level class-for free and compulsory education the 2009 act of state has  provisionally decided that every non-governmental school of the state will be required to reserve a 25 percent of the seat in their school for the children coming from weaker section of the society and they will be provided free and compulsory education upto class 8. For the admission the candidates will have to work according to the decided time frame. Admission to entry level classes will proceed according to the order of the state authority rule. According to this rule, all the private school who are permitting direct entry level classes admission will have to reserve 25 percent of total seat for the children for weak sections for admission into pre-primary classes and class 1st.

In this process the lottery is drawn by the Random system through a computer software in which all eligible applications received online are included. The list of eligible applications is available online on the RTE portal. In this process, they are first taken for the child who is resident of the same ward / village in which the school is located and he is given a priority number by the school wise through random process. After these applications are left for the remaining, than the village panchayat / municipal area resides in which the school is situated.

The centralized lottery media and parents are released on the scheduled date in the education package and soon after the exit of the lottery, the school wise, thus, the list prepared is displayed online. Schools also put their notice board on this list.

This priority list is not guaranteed admission, according to the available seats, applications will be ensured only after the match of the children and the original documents reporting before the end date.
