A batch of 35-40 candidates from 11000 high schools in Karnataka are selected for this program every year. These candidates get PU board education and IIT-JEE entrance coaching from experienced teachers of the BASE. How is TAPAS Entrance Exam Result 2019-20 Calculated?

The score in the TAPAS entrance exam is calculated on the basis of the marking scheme, mentioned explicitly on the question paper. As per previous year data, the calculation of marks is done as per the following marking scheme:

No. of questions: A total of 52 multiple choice questions are asked in the test, 13 each from quantitative abilities, mathematics, physics, and chemistry. 10 Subjective questions are also there from PCM topics.

Marks/right answer: 1 mark will be added for each right response in MCQ questions.

Marks/wrong answer: There is no negative marking.

TAPAS Entrance Exam 2019-2020 Selection Procedure

The willing and eligible candidates need to fill the application form for TAPAS Entrance exam online. After filling the application form and uploading study certificate, candidates need to download the admit card and carry the same to the test venue. After the conduction of entrance examination, the candidates are shortlisted for the course using a 3-stage selection procedure. Let us look at them one by one.

Stage 1: The candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their scores in the written entrance examination. You can check the result for the same from official website of TAPAS, mentioned on this page.

Stage 2: The candidates whose names appear in the stage 1 selection list have to go through background verification. The authorities will visit residences and schools of shortlisted candidates to verify the authenticity of their claims. The verification will last for a period of 1 month after result of written test is declared. After verifying all information, the authorities release the stage 2 selection list. You have already been notified of the schedule of the same in the table above.

Stage 3: After the selection list for stage 2 is out, the shortlisted candidates need to attend a residential selection camp. Here, the admitted candidates will learn the basics of physics, chemistry and mathematics for IIT-JEE exam. They will undergo performance evaluation from time to time. This camp will last for around 1 month as per the schedule mentioned in the dates table on this page. A final Selection list for stage -3 will be published by Rashtrothana Parishat on TAPAS website.
