Sainik School Merit List 2027 is prepared after the AISSEE 2027 result, on the basis of the marks scored in the entrance exam. The merit list is drawn up school-wise, class-wise, gender-wise and category-wise (Home State and Other State quota), and shortlisted candidates are then called for e-counselling, medical examination and document verification. The merit list is published by the respective Sainik Schools and on the NTA / Sainik Schools Society websites.

How the Sainik School Merit List 2027 is Prepared
- The merit list is based on the marks obtained in AISSEE 2027.
- Separate merit lists are prepared for Class 6 and Class 9.
- Lists are drawn school-wise, and within each school gender-wise and category-wise.
- Candidates are divided into the Home State/UT quota (67%) and Other States/UT quota (33%).
- Seats are then allotted as per the reservation criteria and availability of vacancies.
Qualifying marks: a candidate must score a minimum of 25% marks in each section and 40% marks in the aggregate. For the existing Sainik Schools this qualifying requirement does not apply to SC and ST candidates, while for the approved New Sainik Schools it applies to all candidates including SC and ST.
Sainik School Reservation Criteria
Seats in Sainik Schools are reserved as follows:

In the Other States/UT quota, candidates of any one State or UT are not granted more than 25% of the vacancies in each category. The reservation of seats is subject to the outcome of the appeal pending before the Madurai Bench of the Hon’ble Madras High Court, as noted in the official bulletin.
