JNVST 2020

Are you one of the 28 lakh students who will be appearing in JNVST 2020 for class 6 admissions? If yes, then you should definitely take note of these very important things that have been listed here, before your exam. Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) is conducting the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2020 to select students for admission to class 6 in the JNVs throughout the nation. The first of the two exam dates, January 11, 2020, and April 11, 2020, is tomorrow.

You will get JNVST 2020 answer key here after exam

JNVST 2020 Last Minute Preparation Strategy

#1. Know the exam pattern and syllabus

First of all, you should be aware of the exam pattern, which is as follows.

TestNo. of QsMarksTime (in mins)
Mental ability test405060
Arithmetic test202530
Language test202530
Total801002 hours

For every answer that you mark correctly, you will get 1.25 marks. There is no negative marking in the paper.

Click here for the complete syllabus of JNVST 2020.

#2. Be familiar with the OMR sheet

You will get an OMR sheet to mark your answers in the paper. Have you ever used an OMR sheet before? Do not worry. It is very easy to understand.

An OMR sheet has small circles against every question. Each circle is for a an option. You have to fill in that circle, which you wish to mark as the answer. For example, if you have decided that for question 37, answer is option C, then you have to fill in the circle for C, in front of 37.

Please remember: You should use only blue 🔵 or black ⚫ ball point pen to fill in the OMR sheet. Do not use pencil. Do not use gel pen. Do not use any other writing material.

Also note that once you fill in the OMR, you cannot change any answer.

#3. Solve past year papers.

Click here to get the question papers of JNVST exam that were held in 2019 and 2018. You can download both the papers from this page.

Now what you need to do is, that you should solve these papers in 2 hours each. By doing so you will get an idea of exactly what to expect in the paper. This will help you boost your confidence level and get some last minute help.

If you feel confused by any of the questions, just go through the answer key, which we have also provided. By reverse calculation you will be able to understand how to solve every question.

#4. Time management in exam ⏱️

You have to solve 80 questions in 120 minutes. That means you will get 1.5 minutes per question. But in some questions, you will need to give more time, and you will need less time in others.

Make sure that you do not spend too much time on one question. Because if you do, then you will not be able to solve the whole paper on time, and you might miss out some easy questions.

#5. Which questions to do first?

What you can do is, that when you get the question paper, glance at all the questions once. And then do the easy ones first. This will help you easily score more marks. Also, once you complete a few easy questions, you will gain confidence, and it will further help you solve the moderate or difficult questions.

#6. Sleep on time! 😴

A night before the exam, go to bed on time, and get a good night’s rest. Being clear headed will help you solve questions better during exam, and you will also not do any silly mistakes like this.

#7. Be confident, and believe in yourself.

This is probably your first national level entrance exam. It is okay to be a little nervous; that may keep you alert. But do not be so stressed that it adversely affects your performance. I believe in you. Our whole team believes in you. And i am sure, so do your family and your friends. Now all that remains is that you believe in yourself.

Best of luck. You will surely do well in the exam :)
