- The Tunnel (Ruskin Bond): Suraj walks through a jungle railway tunnel, befriends the watchman Sunder Singh, and helps him drive a leopard out before the night mail comes.
- Travel (Edna St. Vincent Millay): the railway is miles away, yet the poet hears every whistle by day and sees red cinders by night; she would take any train, wherever it goes.
- Conquering the Summit: Arunima Sinha lost a leg in a train accident in 2011, climbed Mount Everest in 2013 and went on to complete the Seven Summits.
