- A rectangle has 4 sides and 4 corners. Its opposite sides are equal.
- A square has 4 sides and 4 corners too, but all four sides are equal.
- The corner of a square and the corner of a rectangle are called square corners.
- Two paper strips show three kinds of corner — a square corner, less than a square corner and more than a square corner.
- A triangle has 3 sides and 3 corners.
- A circle has no straight side and no corner. Fold a paper circle twice; the two folds meet at its centre.
- The flat faces of a box (a cuboid) are rectangles or squares.
