- No change in pattern – same 34 questions, 80 marks, 3 hours and the same marks layout as the 2025-26 sample paper (Q1–20 one mark, Q21–24 three marks, Q25–30 four marks, Q31–34 six marks) with identical General Instructions and word limits.
- Internal choice: 2025-26 paper had either/or choice in 5 questions (Q21, Q23, Q25, Q26, Q34); 2026-27 paper has it in 6 questions (Q21, Q23, Q25, Q28, Q31, Q34) – a 6-mark question with choice (Q31) is new.
- Paper footnote changed from ‘the assessment scheme of the academic session 2024-25 will continue in the current session i.e. 2025-26’ to ‘There is no change in the Question Paper Design and Assessment Pattern for Academic Session 2026-27’.
- Paper length: 15 pages in 2026-27 vs 14 pages in 2025-26.

In a monthly review the Chairman, Mr Himank, learns that most expenses are within budget but maintenance expenses have exceeded the permissible limit; without interfering in routine matters he asks the Accounts Manager to investigate the cause. (A) Name and explain the principle of managerial control applied. (B) Identify and state the subsequent step in the controlling process that must be undertaken to ensure standards are accomplished.
CBSE Class 12 Business Studies Marking Scheme 2027 (Solutions)
The 2026-27 marking scheme gives the correct option for each MCQ and model answers (NCERT-style value points) for all descriptive questions, including both internal-choice alternatives. A mark-split column shows how marks are awarded, e.g. ½ mark for each heading + 1½ marks for explanation, or 1 mark for naming the concept + marks per correct statement. Check your answers against it after you solve the paper.

How to Score Well – Tips from the 2027 Paper
- 20 of 34 questions are 1-mark MCQs, most built on short business cases – practise identifying the concept (e.g. working-capital factor, importance of controlling, step in planning) from case details.
- Several long answers are case-based and ask you to ‘name/identify’ first and then explain (e.g. Q27 management by exception + taking corrective action, Q30 coordination, Q32 stock exchange) – the scheme gives a separate mark for the correct identification, so state it clearly.
- Marks are split as ½ for the heading and the rest for the explanation – write a clear heading for each point before explaining it.
- Keep to the printed word limits: 50–75 words for 3 marks, about 150 for 4 marks and about 200 for 6 marks.
- Revise the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 in detail (meaning of consumer, CCPA, appellate structure, rights and responsibilities) – it appears in four 1-mark questions.
- Solve the 2027 paper in one sitting with a timer, check it with the marking scheme, then solve the 2026 paper a few days later.
