Ans : The Champaran episode is considered as an important chapter in Gandhi’s life. It was the first Satyagraha movement that was started in India for Champaran peasants. This movement filled them with courage. So it is considered as an important event in the pages of history and a turning-point in Gandhi's Life. 

Ans : Gandhiji had a great understanding about the local peasants and officers. He succeeded in influencing lawyers by being ready to move to jail if required. This hit the peasants and they thought of staying back too and accompany Gandhiji to jail if required. Gandhiji influence the lawyers instances of selfless service. 

Ans : Local populace was scared to show sympathy towards advocates of “home-rule” Average Indian considered themselves weak and subjected to taking orders. This made them easy rule over subjects the powerful rulers. 

Ans : The local mass contributed to the freedom movement in great way.
In Motihari, numerous peasants took part in various demonstrations outside court. This movement was started by an ordinary peasant called Rajkumar Shukla as he had resilient persistence. It gave birth to first Satyagraha movement in India, and contributing to the freedom movement.
In Champaran, Mahadev Desai and Narhari Parikh, two men joined Gandhi as disciples, and their wives too joined the movement by teaching in school. This eradicated the backwardness in Champaran. A doctor was also a part of this movement for six months. 

Ans : Gandhi once said real relief is to be free from fear. Even today, poor literacy levels, lack of sufficient nutrition, inaccessibility of sanitary facilities plague the poor of India. Many government schemes have been put into action, lack of awareness of such schemes lead to under-utilisation of these measures. Many new trends are coming up. Non-governmental organisations, private companies as part of their ‘corporate social responsibility’ (CSR) programmes are working upon to uplift the standard and quality of life for the poor and disadvantaged groups.
