Ans : Sophie and Jansie were close friends but still they were completely different from each other in every way. Sophie day dreamed, was ambitious, she lived in her own utopian world. She daydreamed of earning a good amount and wanted to be known by everyone. On the other hand, Jansie was a maverick and lived in a realistic world where she was aware of her capabilities. She used to advise Sophie to be practical and to stop day-dreaming about things that were far-away from their reach. 

Ans : Sophie’s father was a practical as well as realistic person. His physical  appearance were described as a plum-faced and sweaty man with no sophisticated behaviour and proper eating habits. He was a family man whose aim was to keep his family happy even though he was not very well financially, still he would look out for ways to keep family happy. The thing he was against was the stories. He was a football freak and never failed to celebrate its victory. He would regularly go out with his family to events. After victory celebration would take place in pub accompanied with drinks. He constantly warned Sophie of her wild stories for Danny. Sophie’s father was a true family man carefully guiding his family and keeping them away from all the troubles. 

Ans : Sophie liked her brother Geoff, he listened to all her stories patiently and she knew her brother knew more about the city life than she knew. She didn’t approve of his silence and being a grown-up he was constantly engaged in his thoughts. 

Ans : Sophie’s belonged to a lower-middle-class family. The setting of her room was simple and not very high class it had  a messy sink having a pile of dirty dishes and while Jansie wanted to work in a biscuit factory after school shows her financial status. She wanted to earn money and constantly day dreamed of it as every middle class family member would do. 

Ans : Sophie wants to earn fame. But the major part of her life is mere imagination the things she daydreams. She wants to start her own boutique but is unaware of the fact that it requires a huge sum of money. She develops a romantic relationship with her dream football player. Her father is against her daydreaming all the time. Sophie would create figmented stories about her meeting with Danny, and her father constantly warned her on doing so as it could land her up in a real trouble. On the other hand her friend Jansie is practical and realistic who knew ultimately they both would end up in biscuit factory.
