Knowledge Tradition and Practices of India is assessed through a 70-mark theory examination and a 30-mark Internal Assessment. The split is as follows.
For Internal Assessment, students must complete 2 research-based projects (1 per term) worth 2 × 10 = 20 marks, drawn from the internally-assessed chapters – Chemistry in India, Indian Traditional Knowledge on Environmental Conservation, Mathematics in India and Theatre and Drama in India. Work is presented as a Portfolio (5 marks) that includes research and extended learning, followed by a Viva Voce (5 marks). Topics not covered under the two projects are completed through other modes such as debates, scrap books, role play, panel discussions and arts integration, with a strong emphasis on group work and 21st-century skills.
