The prescribed practical work includes: understanding oneself (physical development, sexual maturity), observing developmental norms from birth to three years, discussing areas of agreement/disagreement with family members and teachers, recording and evaluating a day’s diet, preparing healthy snacks for an adolescent, time and activity planning, budget planning, recording and categorising fabrics and apparel used in a day, relating fibre properties (thermal property, flammability, moisture absorbency) to their usage, and analysing/preparing garment care labels along with colour-fastness testing of fabric samples. File Work (5 marks) and Viva Voce (2 marks) are also part of the practical assessment.
