- No change in pattern – same sections and marks as the 2026 sample paper (16 questions, 4 parts: Reading 10, Grammar 12, Writing 18, Textbook 40; same per-question marks and choices).
- Unseen passages changed: 2026 prose passage was on Gatka and the poem on children’s games; 2027 prose passage is on the Puadhi dialect and the poem is on trees.
- Essay topics changed: 2026 – ‘Man Tu Jot Saroop Hai’, road-traffic problem, visit to a historical place; 2027 – ‘Mithat Nivi Nanka Gun Changiaiyan Tat’ (sweetness and humility), students and social media, visit to a religious place.
- Letters changed: 2026 – letter to a relative suggesting books as a gift / letter to the SHO reporting a lost mobile phone; 2027 – request to the principal to run the library properly / letter to father seeking permission for a school tour of historical places.

The 2027 marking scheme gives the correct option for every MCQ, model answers for Q2, Q13 and most Q14–Q16 items, sample words for prefixes/suffixes and model sentences for all idioms; opinion-based answers are to be marked on the student’s own reasoning. - Literature (Part IV) is 40 of 80 marks – revise every story, prose essay, poem and one-act play named above; MCQs ask exact names, numbers and quotations (e.g. the writer’s village, distances, who spoke a line).
- In MCQs write both the option letter and the answer text, as the paper’s instructions require.
- In the essay, spelling (ਸ਼ਬਦ-ਜੋੜ) and word choice carry 1 mark each – follow the printed outline points and proof-read.
- Learn the letter format: address/subject/salutation/closing carry 3 of the 6 marks, the body only 3.
- Stick to the printed word limits (25–30 words for 2-mark answers, 50–60 for 4-mark answers) and support opinion questions with reasons from the text.
- Solve the 2027 paper in one sitting with a timer, check it with the marking scheme, then solve the 2026 paper a few days later.
