- पाठ का नाम ही पहला वाक्य है — ‘अहं प्रातः उत्तिष्ठामि’ = ‘मैं सुबह उठता/उठती हूँ’। पूरा पाठ उत्तमपुरुष एकवचन में कहा गया है — करोमि, पिबामि, नमामि, गच्छामि — इसलिए विद्यार्थी इसे ज्यों-का-त्यों अपनी दिनचर्या बताने में काम ले सकता है।
- समय बताने का साँचा एक ही है — ‘संख्या + वादनम्’। पञ्चवादनम् = ५:००, षड्वादनम् = ६:००, अष्टवादनम् = ८:००। और समय पर कहना हो तो सप्तमी विभक्ति — पञ्चवादने (पाँच बजे)।
- तीन उपसर्ग-जैसे शब्द सारा खेल पलट देते हैं — सपाद (स + पाद = सवा, +१५ मिनट), सार्ध (स + अर्ध = साढ़े, +३० मिनट) और पादोन (पाद + ऊन = पौने, −१५ मिनट)। इसीलिए पादोन-सप्तवादनम् ७:४५ नहीं, ६:४५ होता है।
- दिनचर्या ५:०० से ८:०० तक बारह चरणों में चलती है — उठना, भूमिवन्दन, माता-पिता को नमन, उषःपान, शौच-दन्तधावन, सूर्यनमस्कार-योगासन, स्वाध्याय, परिसर-स्वच्छता, स्नान, प्रार्थना-गीतापाठ, चरणवन्दन, प्रातराश और विद्यालय-गमन।
