CBSE Class 12 General Studies Syllabus 2027 – Internal Assessment
General Studies focuses on the affective domain and is evaluated by the schools, not through a board exam. The aim is not to test acquired knowledge but to sensitise students towards personal, social and environmental development. Teachers determine the frequency of assessment based on the intensity of the content.
Schools use Multiple Assessment Techniques – surveys, debates, research, reviews, oral tests, individual or group work, class discussion, field-work, concept maps, project-work, self and peer assessment, experiments and classroom demonstrations. Teachers are encouraged to develop simple scoring criteria and rubrics and to maintain records of learners’ performance before assigning grades.
