Literature (Textbooks and Supplementary Reader) carries 50 marks in total – the highest weightage section of the paper.
All lessons and poets from Gulistan-e-Adab (Barahvein Jama’at Ke Liye) are to be studied, except the following deleted topics: Maktoob-e-Ghalib Haqeer ke Nam, Umrao Jan (Mazmoon), Bijuka (Afsana), Main Woh (Afsana), a Ghazal by Baani, Mulke Be Saharo-Sham (Nazm), Yadnagar (Nazm), Waqt ka Tarana (Nazm), and Ghalib Jadeed Shoara ki Ek Majlis Mein (Tanzo Mizah). All lessons from the Khayaban-e-Urdu Supplementary Reader are to be studied, except Bewa (Novel) by Premchand, Yahoodi ki Larki (Drama) by Agha Hashr Kashmiri, and Marhoom ki Yaad Mein (Inshayia) by Petras Bukhari.
